Star fruit (Averrhoa carambola) is prized for its star shape when sliced and its balance of sweetness and acidity. Grown in Ecuador's humid tropical zones. Exported semi-ripe with uniform yellow coloration. Highly valued in fruit salads, plate garnishes, and premium retail in Europe and North America.

Ideal for

Storage & handling

Cold chain 4–12 °C depending on fruit, 85–90% RH, no stacking. Controlled ripening when required.

Wash with potable water, peel or cut per export grade. Process within 24–48 h for best quality.
